- Students could complete a travel diary entry in microsoft word in which they detail one whole day on their holiday adventure. (Literacy)
- Students could write a narrative in microsoft word on what may have happened if they ended up in the wrong country and had to work out where to go, what to do and how to get home. (Literacy)
- Students could design a brochure in microsoft word advertising the best places to visit in their chosen destination. (Literacy, T&E, Art)
- Students could design and write a postcard from their country. (Literacy, T&E, Art)
Theme Extension Ideas
* Measurement lessons can be related to distance travelled on the holiday.
* Fraction and ratio lessons can be related to currency conversion, by working out exchange rates and buying souvenirs according to a budget.
* Exploring and teaching traditional dances can incorporate the theme into both your P.E. and Arts programs.
* Traditional visual art techniques can be explored and practiced as part of your Arts programs.
* Include personal travel safety and health in your Health aspect of your P.E. program.
* Include map-reading in your S&E program, and use the countries and trips the students have chosen.
